Using One Flame
One Flame is an independent peace initiative operated by Michael C (Better Connections Ltd, Congleton, United Kingdom). By using this site you agree to these terms.
Your candle
When you purchase a candle on oneflame.earth, you receive a permanent candle on the living map. Your candle burns for seven days from the date of purchase or most recent relight. Relighting is free and available at any time using your candle code and PIN.
Your candle is yours permanently. We do not delete confirmed candles. If you lose your candle code, use the Find a Candle function on the map. If you lose your PIN, reset it via the email you registered. If you purchased without providing an email, your PIN cannot be recovered and a new purchase would be required.
Payment
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. The current price is £1.78. This is a one-time fee. There are no subscriptions, no renewal charges, and no hidden costs. Relighting is always free.
Candle purchases are non-refundable once your candle has been placed on the map, as the service is delivered immediately upon payment confirmation.
Certificate
A certificate of peace is issued to anyone who provides a valid email address. You may provide this at the time of purchase or at any point afterwards via the certificate page. Certificates are generated automatically and are not legally binding documents.
Content
You are responsible for the nickname, location and intention text you associate with your candle. We reserve the right to remove any candle associated with content that is harmful, offensive or misleading. We do not review candles before they appear on the map.
The map
The living map shows candles from people around the world. Candle positions are approximate and based on country selection, not precise address. We do not store or display precise location data.
Charity donations
Charitable donations are made personally by the founder at each milestone. These are discretionary commitments, not contractual obligations. All donations made are published on the Our Story page with receipts.
Limitation of liability
One Flame is provided as-is. We make no guarantees about continuous availability of the service. In the event of technical failure, candle data is preserved in our database and will be restored. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for your candle.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the site. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
